Islamizing the taleem ….. – 34 (The importance of perception)

(The writing that follows is my dialogue through email with a group on the Topic: Islamizing the Taleem and Tarbiyah of our children. I am maintaining the email format for ease of understanding as well as for maintaining originality of this dialogue.)

Assalamu Alaikum,

Has been long enough waiting for any response. Br. Jawad no response from your side either. I hope my argument have satisfied you. Myself have been a little tired as well in the last few eventful days on ship. Anyhow I will continue Insha’Allah.

Sisters and brothers my last message ended requesting you all to reflect upon the the following terminologies: paradigm, worldview, thought structure, amal e Idrak, perception, mind map, zehan, zehan sazi, cognitive process, and many such term which reflect the thought and action process of human beings.

If you ask me how many different perceptions exist in this world my answer will be as many as the number of human beings. Subhan’Allah, it is like finger prints. No two people in the world have same perception or identical thinking style. Isn’t it true? So how are these different thinking styles or perceptions developed?

In my past emails I have endeavored to project the development of perception as one of the most important objective of human education and have tried to rationalize this claim. I find majority of sisters and brothers, responding to my emails, have to some extent got my point and agree with my assertion or argument that perception decides a human conduct.

There are a few more terms to reflect upon: Nazaria’, outlook (of the life and all that is happening around) which we call as worldview  as well. What roles do these play in ones beliefs and actions? What importance do they have to ones living this only one life that we have been given to show our performance? How are these developed? How can they be shaped correctly? Are these not very relevant questions to ponder from the perspective of one’s success or failure in this short life?

Insha’Allah onwards I will venture to explain how these are developed and how can these be intervened with.

Truly,
Br. Abid
