Islamizing the taleem ….. – 63 (Contemporary Education: Can we achieve our goals -the vector effect theory 1)

(My dialogue through email with a group on the Topic: Islamizing the Taleem and Tarbiyah of our children)

Assalamu Alaikum,

So far my endeavor has been to acquaint my readers with the following:

1) The importance of correct perception development in education
2) The mechanism of how perception is developed

Now I take up how the educational interventions or activities effect us positively or negatively from the perspective of our educational Goal and objectives.

As promised here I am with the vector effect theory which may apply to our present education system and our desired outcomes as Muslims. The PDF document comprise two pages with two figures. Initial position is where we start the education of our child. Target destination is where we want to take our child to.

For us as Muslims definitely it is the destination is where we want our child to grow to be a stable Muslim, with required degree of Taqwa and possessing Islamic perception as desired by Allah subhana wa ta’ala. In other words a person as required by the Creator Himself.

As discussed earlier in different Perception theories each learning intervention or learning experience will cast its effect on an individual. Now if the interventions are directed towards some objective it will make the person develop required perception, and in case the learning experience or intervention is not actually directed towards required objectives it will result in the development of a perception accordingly and may be quite opposite to that in the first case. Some important points to note before you study the two attached figures:

1)     Any vector (the arrows in the diagrams) has two components: the direction and the magnitude or in this case effectiveness to make a person move towards its direction. Or we can say the intensity of  its effect (the effect of intervention or learning experience).
2)     The more the intervention or learning experience is effectively designed towards destined objectives the more a person will move directly towards the destination. Vice versa the poorly the intervention is designed the direction will not be directly towards the destination and in fact can even be away from the destination.
3)     The above mentioned intervention or learning experience may also be some event, or media effects on the person. Now I will leave on the audience to study the attached diagrams (VECTOR EFFECTS) and if possible to revert with their understanding, refutation, or suggested improvements. Insha’Allah in my next email I will explain my own understanding of same.
